According to IDC, by 2006, most e-commerce will depend on software supported by Web services. With interoperability and compatibility such critical requirements, Droplets enables your IT organization to create and deploy applications in a single, standard language, while interoperating with your back-end systems, tools and platforms.
The Droplets User Interface Server has been designed to interoperate with a wide variety of platforms, applications and standards, and includes support for essential standard technologies like SSL, challenge-response authentication, HTTP tunneling, HTTPS and SNMP - making it straightforward and fast to implement and maintain within your existing network.
Applications presented as Droplets are fully capable of interoperating with EJB/J2EE-based application servers and portal servers, and accessing XML-based Web services. Developers can access Web Services using standard Java XML & HTTP libraries, a commercial or open-source SOAP toolkit, or a middleware platform like The Mind Electric's GLUE.
The Droplets platform includes a Software Development Kit (SDK) with full APIs for Java, C++, Micro Focus Object COBOL and soon any .NET language. The Droplets SDK works out of the box with any integrated development environment (IDE), and Droplets is working to make it even easier to build applications with leading IDE's, including Borland JBuilder, Eclipse, Micro Focus Net Express, Sun ONE Studio (formerly Forte), Oracle jDeveloper and Microsoft Visual Studio .Net.
- Only platform that supports only open-standard languages and technologies
- Application development using a single standard language
- Non-proprietary development with full APIs for Java, C++, and Micro Focus Object COBOL, along with support for leading IDEs
