CORRECTIONS.COM LAUNCHES HIGHLY SECURE DROPLETS-BASED EMAIL FOR CORRECTIONAL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITIES

Top portal for $40 billion vertical market selects Droplets technology to deliver enhanced security and functionality

NEW YORK, March 30, 2001 - Droplet, Inc., today announced that Corrections.com will use Droplets™ to deliver an online e-mail service with enhanced security and encryption capabilities.

Droplets is a software platform for server-based online applications featuring real-time capabilities, high security, massive scalability and thin bandwidth usage. Droplets provide a more functional, user-friendly interface to online applications, and can be shared and distributed via email, in a Web page, or dragged out of the browser to the desktop, and accessed like local software.

Corrections.com provides the corrections and law enforcement communities, including The American Correctional Association, The National Major Gang Task Force and the Department of Justice, with a destination where practitioners can exchange ideas and utilize best practices, resources, case studies and new technologies. "One of the services we've wanted to offer our practitioners is a secure, protected online email service with higher security and encryption levels than browser-based web mail," said Joseph Noonan, CEO of Corrections.com. "We also needed to maintain one key benefit of the Net; the ability to access this service from any computer, from anywhere. The Droplets platform enables us to offer the best of both worlds - enhanced functionality and security, with the easy access of server-based software. Beyond email, we're already thinking about a variety of applications our constituencies need, and we hope the Droplets platform will be the center point for our development of these powerful, secure solutions."

"This is going to be a tremendously exciting relationship," said Thomas MacIsaac, vice president of sales, Droplet, Inc. "Corrections.com wants to offer next generation online applications to not only help improve the efficiency of our nation's correctional facilities, but also provide government agencies with tools to actually help fight and solve crime. I can honestly say this is one of the more unusual and exciting applications of our technology."

The Corrections.com email service is currently in beta deployment and will be available early April from www.correctionsmail.com.
